SNDHCTA Holds Its Annual Awards Banquet

Next to their horses, SNHDCTA members value good food and a good time. This year the club held its annual awards banquet at the New England Center in Durham, New Hampshire. The Center is well known for its spacious but comfortable atmosphere, tasty food and friendly service. Members had an opportunity to chat and reminisce about the year as they ate dinner and waited for the announcement of this year’s award winners. Outgoing club president Lisa Todaro passed the club reins to incoming president Karen O’Malley, a longtime club member and board member whose dedication is admired by all. The Cheri Oleson award for high points at the summer show went to Amanda Archibald. A new award was established by former president Andrea Hunt in memory of her horse Dino, and sponsored by Sons of the Wind Farm. The first recipient of this award was Marley Jenkins, high-point junior rider at the fall show. Year-end results are as follows: Walk/Trot Young Riders: 1. Felicia Pandelena, Appy of My Eye/Amazing Grace, 67.25; 2. Torey Neusch, Charbelle, 64.5; 3. Amanda Archibald, 62.33; 4. Jalin Marston, Boomer, 60.5. Walk/Trot Adult: 1. SNHDCTA Holds Its Fall Dressage Show

It seems that whenever SNHDCTA members gather for an event with their horses, the weather mirrors their spirit. So on a clear September day, riders and their horses completed a number of dressage tests and equitation classes at Spinnaker Hill Farm in Epping, NH. Judge Leslie Grandmaison offered constructive comments to each rider, and was particularly warm and encouraging to the young riders who were new to the show ring.
