SNHDCTA Holds Its Summer Dressage Show

After a drenching June and early July, SNHDCTA riders finally got their sparkling summer day. They gathered at Spinnaker Hill Farm in Epping, NH for the annual summer dressage show. The warm-up ring was especially busy as riders and trainers jockeyed for space to get their horses ready for their tests. Parents, siblings, dogs, and friends sat quietly along the sidelines as their favorite riders put their horses through the paces. It was a perfect place to enjoy the sun as well as the sights and sounds of a horse show

The Dressage Foundation Due Dates for Grants & Scholarships

The Dressage Foundation offers many grants and scholarships that riders in your region may be interested in applying for. An updated schedule of due dates for those grants/scholarships is now available on our website at www.dressagefoundation.org. In particular, the Gifted Scholarship offered to adult amateurs is something you might want your constituents in USDF Region 8 to consider. Beverly Reid (CT), the 2009 Region 8 Gifted Scholarship recipient, will complete her training in the upcoming months. When she returns, they will post her photo and written report on the Gifted Scholarship page of their website. Each recipient comes from their training with many experiences and tips to share with their fellow GMO members. As the information on the website states, the deadline to apply for a $900 Gifted Scholarship is September 15, 2009.

SNDHCTA Holds Its Annual Awards Banquet

Next to their horses, SNHDCTA members value good food and a good time. This year the club held its annual awards banquet at the New England Center in Durham, New Hampshire. The Center is well known for its spacious but comfortable atmosphere, tasty food and friendly service. Members had an opportunity to chat and reminisce about the year as they ate dinner and waited for the announcement of this year’s award winners.
